Responding to coronavirus: A message from Claudia Lopez
Hello,

There is much concern at this time about the Coronavirus COVID-19, and each of us must make choices that we are most comfortable with. No one wants to contract or unwittingly spread this virus. Many offices and school districts are closing to avoid situations with large crowds. I respect each business and each person’s personal choice about how to move forward in this situation.

Here are the guidelines I have chosen for my practice at this time, which are subject to change:

-
Because my office is small and there are not a large number of people in it at one time, I am choosing to keep it open at this time and continue to see clients.
-
I will be refraining from shaking hands or hugging anyone that is not one of my family members at this time. I will be using waves, warm smiles, and well wishes toward all others.
-
While the virus is transmitted from person to person, I will still be using the precaution of a disinfectant spray on chairs, pillows, and blankets after each session.
-
I want to make sure all clients also know that I have Secure Telehealth availability through my practice system. So, if you would prefer to use this means for our next few sessions, please let me know. It is very simple to use on your computer, or even your phone. I have used it with a few clients for regular sessions, and it has worked out very well.

And finally, as a Catholic Therapist, I feel compelled to remind everyone to be at peace. There is much hysteria at stores and on the media. Be prudent in your actions and choices, but be calm. Use your peaceful place exercise to mitigate any anxiety or unease (if we have not done this in one of our sessions, I can help you by telehealth to learn this exercise). In the words of St. Teresa of Avila “Let nothing trouble you, let nothing frighten you. All things pass, only God never changes.”
Please feel free to message or call me if you need any additional support at this time. The best way to reach me is by phone (text or call). Emails are not the best way to reach me for a quick response, but feel free to use this means if you prefer it. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me should the need arise.
Sincerely and affectionately,
Claudia Lopez
